Instructions on Using Spybot and Ad-Aware

It has come to my attention that some of the visitors to the site have difficulty figuring out how to use Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware. I cannot recommend their use highly enough. In fact, screw recommendations...it is MANDATORY that you learn how to use these programs if you want to have any chance of using the Internet without being bombarded at every turn by 10x cameras and free pornographic material in whatever flavor floats your canoe.

Therefore, I have put together this page to help you through updating the software and using it effectively. In order to get good results, you must run BOTH of these programs, and you must update them before use, even if you just downloaded them.

First, download Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy and install both programs.

The next step is to update both programs (even if you just downloaded them you must update)

Ad-Aware:

Click the check for updates link at the bottom of the main Ad-Aware screen.

STEP TWO:

Click "Connect"

Now choose "OK" and allow it to install the new reference file.

Click "Finish" you may now begin the scan

STEP THREE:

Click "Start" on the main screen, then "Next"

STEP FOUR:

When the scan completes it will look like the above picture. Now click "Next" again.

STEP FIVE:

Right-click on one of the objects and choose "Select all objects", then click "Next" on final time and it will remove the components. Click continue for the Spybot instructions.
